CCSv5.1 upgrade problem on Linux

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I am using CCS 5.1.0.09000 on Ubuntu Linux. When I do "Check for Updates" I get the following error message: "No repository found at http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/TargetContent/LinuxUpdates/full."

Any ideas on how to fix this?

thanks

Greg

  • Could be that the site is simply off line temporarily, so I recommend re-downloaded the software, CSS 5.1.1.1.00033 is now released however . . .

Under Help->Install new software->Available software sites, the site you listed is configured as disabled on my install, although clicking on it and selecting Reload is successful at contacting the repository so please try again.

This site, I believe is the one you want, it's enabled on my install (Ubuntu v10.04 LTS 32bit):

    http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5/Updates

If it's not listed, click on Add then use 'Exported Repository' for the name and the above for the site.

Then try 'Reload' to ensure it connects and then perhaps help->check for updates.

    Hope this helps

  • HI Greg,

we have been seeing some issues with moving to 5.1.1 via an update.  Once we have worked through this a note will be posted with instructions on the download site for those who do not simply wish to install 5.1.1 separately.

I will keep you informed.  And yes, for now the service release is not being made available.

    SOrry for any inconvenience.

    Best REgards,
    Lisa

  • Stephen,

I have had this problem every time I have tried to update over the last few months so it clearly isn't caused by the website being down once. Also if I try to access the URL via a browser I get:

    Not Found

The requested URL /dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/TargetContent/LinuxUpdates/full was not found on this server.

I have both the URL you suggested above and this one in the list of available sites and both were selected in my install.

Also I have now installed 5.1.1.00033 via downloading the full installer. When I try "Check for Updates" in that version I get the same error.

  • Lisa,

so are you saying that you haven't enabled this URL because you haven't sorted out the upgrade issues yet?

so should we unselect this URL in the available software sites in the meantime?

Or should we just ignore this error?

    thanks

    Greg

  • HI Greg,

yes, due to an uncovered issue, updates are not available at the moment.  This is not likely to change for a minimum of  a few weeks.

So unfortunately all I can suggest, if you would like the latest version is to install it separately or over your existing installation.

Sorry for any inconvenience.  Does this help clarify?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Greg,

no worries.  Sorry once again for the inconvenience.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
