Hello,
I'm looking for an archived release of the TMS470 C/C++ Code Generation Tools from around 1998 to 2001. Ideally that's the TMS470R1x Code Generation Tools 1.x (Release 1.00 was January 1998, SPNU177), or failing that any 2.0x/2.1x release.
The command-line tools alone would be perfect: cl470, asm470, lnk470 and the 16-bit runtime-support library. Any host platform is fine. If the matching compiler user's guide (an early revision of SPNU151) is also available, that would be very welcome.
The reason: I'm doing non-commercial historical and interoperability research on late-1990s GSM handset firmware that was built with TI's TMS470 tools (16-bit state, big-endian, TIABI). I've already confirmed this using ARM CGT 4.9.1: its TIABI runtime routines (I$DIV, IND$CALL, FS$DIV and others) appear byte-for-byte in the firmware.
However, 4.9.1's code generation has moved on from the original. For example, the older compiler always emits a CMP after a flag-setting SUB, and it synthesises constants differently. I thinkI need an earlier release to reproduce the original output and write compatible code.
The CCStudio 3.3.83.20 download page says to contact TI support for other legacy releases, which is why I'm asking here.
Many thanks in advance,
Alistair
