UNIFLASH: DSLite will not flash while UNIFLASH will

Part Number: UNIFLASH

I am trying to flash the CC2340R22 chip on a custom board using DSLite/the Uniflash CLI. However, when running the command

C:\\ti\\uniflash_9.6.0\\dslite.bat --mode noConnectFlash --config=C:\\ti\\uniflash_9.6.0\\XDS0002.ccxml --flash <hex file path>

XDS0002.txt  Changed the .ccxml file to a .txt file so I could attach it here.

It will throw the Error -615 "incorrectly formatted SWD".

Without touching the board, the connections, or the XDS110, I will then open Uniflash and I am able to flash the exact same file to the board using the GUI.

Then when trying to flash using CLI it fails with the same error.

Is there some CLI command I am missing to make it work?

  • Hi Zach,

    I tried your .ccxml file on a Launchpad that has CC2340R22 on it using the `dslite.sh` command. However, I did not see the issue. Then I generated my own .ccxml file using CCS and I noticed that the difference is that you have the following setting:

    <property Type="choicelist" Value="1" id="TCLK">
    <choice Name="Fixed" value="SPECIFIC">
    <property id="-- Enter a value from 100.0kHz to 2.0mHz" Type="stringfield" Value="2.0mHz"/>
    </choice>
    </property>

    It's possible that this TCLK value is too fast for your custom board. Could you temporary remove it and try flashing again?

    I'm attaching my .ccxml here and also following is the command I used (very similar to yours, I just removed the noConnectFlash mode, which should also work):

    dslite.sh --config=cc2340r22.ccxml --verbose --flash <hex file path>

  • Hi Ging,

    I will try it without those lines.

    However, I added that in due to the error -615 that I was getting. So, I tried a wide range of manual speeds from 100.0kHz to 2.0MHz, same issue.

    DSLite will not work with some of my boards, but work fine with others. While Uniflash will always work.

  • Zach,

    Did you also try on a TI Launchpad and observed the same issue?

    I have not been able to reproduce the issue on TI Launchpads, so I'm wondering if it could be an issue on the custom board.

    You can also try following the official documentation below. There is a command here that adds extra settings using the `-l` flag: https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/uniflash/docs/v8_8_1/uniflash_quick_start_guide.html#standalone-command-line-tool
