Code Composer Debug Session Won't Start - Loads to Target and then...nothing happens

I've been marching along for the past months without any issue and suddenly I can't enter debug. It's as if it's being held in reset or something.If I remove the debugger, it sometimes starts up the firmware (I have a light that lights). I have tried both my development kit and my PCB. This was working fine. Also I am suddenly getting this dialog box that keeps popping up when I 'save' or when I try to debug. It flashes 2-4 times and is title 'Windows Updating'...

    Hi Robert,

    could you please provide more information.

    - what CCS version do you use?  What target?

    - did anything change?  Is this reproducable with all projects and workspaces?

    - what exactly is being experienced?  Is CCS hanging?

    - would you be willing to try a fresh workspace and also renaming ctools.dll?

    -could you please send any error logs or dump files (.dmp) generated?  There is information on this here
