Hi,

I would like to have the "compile_commands.json" file generated/updated when building from the command line in CCStudio 21.0.1.10.

I noticed that the ".clangd" folder, which usually contains that file, is generated when building from the IDE GUI via the "Build Projects" menu item.

When compiling the same project using ccs-server-cli.bat the ".clangd" folder is not being generated/updated despite all the other output files are generated inside the configuration build folder. Also the "ccs: project-build output" of the IDE GUI and the cli output are the same.

Any hint on how to generate the compile_commands.json file via ccs-server-cli.bat ?

    Yes your observation is correct, the compile_commands.json file would only get generated from an IDE build. It is actually not specific to the project build but likely a separate command from the IDE automatically called prior to the build to generate that file. Building with the project CLI commands would only execute the build portion.

    As for how to generate it from CLI, I will need to check with engineering to see if we can expose this command used by the IDE.
