CCS v5.1.0.00031 debug error using windows 7

Hello, I`m new in ccs, and i have downloaded the ccs v5 and licensed it to use a free 16kb code for msp430, i can create a new project, and select the device, later i copy a example provided in ccs and proceed to buid the project, everything is correct and i have a succesful build, but when i clic in debug icon, the debugger starts, and inmediately appears a windows message "ccstudio ha dejado de funcionar" (i'm using spanish version of windows) and when i close this message ccs closes automatically, i must begin again ccs to work but always appear the same error.

I have windows 7 x64, and i have installed ccs as administrator but the debugger continues with the same problem.

    HI Ariel,

    Does this occur with every project/workspace?  Only when trying to debug? Did you import the example using Project->Import Existing CCS/Eclipse Project?  Did you only select MSP430 support when installing? 

    Could you please send us any error logs or dump files(.dmp)  generated?

    Have you installed CCS with administrator privileges?  Does your directory have accented or special characters?

    Hello Lisa, thanks for your help. Yes this problem occur with every project/workspace, and exactly only when  i try to debug, i creates a new project, select the device,empty project and in the main() i use to paste the example code, later i build it correct, and the problem occur when i debug. 

    And efectively i only selected msp430 support, i tried installing (ccs5.1.0.9000 and ccs5.1.1.00031) and the problem is the same,

    i have a trouble Lisa, where can i get the (.dmp) files?

    Hi Ariel

    Do you get any build errors?  Can you ensure that you are not using a directory with accented characters? 

    Does this only happen when you cut and paste an example?  If you do things yourself are you ok?

    If dump files were generated look in your ccs directories ... eg

    .\ccsv5\DebugServer\win32\components\Logs

    Hi Ariel,

    another thing you can do is run the installer again and select more than just MSP support?  Eg and C2000 and/or Setllaris support?  This might be related to a known issue with some non english versions of windows and only adding msp430.

    Hello Lisa, I have not any build error, and i hace select as workspace c:\ti\workspace and some other places for workspace like MyDocuments, but i have got the same problem, and the problem occur with examples and new projects, and thanks for suggest me to install C2000 and/or Setllaris support, i will check it and i will tell you what happen,

    And about the dump files i couldn't find any folder "logs" or .dmp files, and this time i saw details of windows error message when i clic on debug and it tells about a problem with "DebugServer.dll"

    Hey Lisa, i have a great new!! i followed your instructions about setup c2000, but before to do it, later unistalled all ccs of my computer and cleaned registry and again i installed both msp430 and  c2000 stellaris support, and efectuvely the problem is solved!! Thanks I am grateful for your excellent care and support. Thanks
