Browse button in Importing Existing Eclipse Project is frustrating

I'm using CCS 5.1.0 on Windows XP. When I go to import an existing Eclipse Project, I'd expect the Browse button to bring up an Windows Explorer type window, so I could "browse" to the right spot. Instead it starts "searching" from specified location. For example, I know the project is somewhere under c:\ but I cannot remember the exact directory name. I type in c:\ and hit browse and the search begins. It should bring up a directory structure window so I can browse to the right location. Also the search cannot be halted, so I have to kill CCS because I don't want to wait for 10+ minutes for the search to end.

I know if I don't type anything and just hit browse it works as expected, but I don't think the button should change functionality based on user input. Maybe have a second button.

Hi Todd,

I tend to always leave the field blank and hit browse. See the screen shots below. This might be much easier for you. Does this help clarify? I understand your feedback that if you input something and then hit browse CCS does indeed go right into a search. But this is because in this case I would think a cut and paste type input of the project directory is expected.

Hi Lisa,

I understand that if you leave it blank, browse works as browse. However, I generally try to "help" narrow the browse by entering the initial directory (force of habit that is hard to break:) ). Then the button turns into a search. Then I get mad at myself for not remembering that this button changes functionality. Can we change the button from "browse" to "search" if the user starts to enter some data into the field? Or maybe have two buttons ("browse" and "search")?

this will very much depend on how much of this comes from default Eclipse behaviour.
