How to view preprocessor → intermediate files

Hi,

I would like to ask a question with C preprocessor.

Before actual compiling, preprocessor put included files into the original source files and produce something that might be called “intermediate” files, which is then fed to the compiler.

To ensure the correctness of the “intermediate” files, I found it desirable if I could view their textual content. Is it possible with CCS? Or, by any external tool such as any of the GNU utilities?

You didn't mention which processor family so I'll assume c6000 for now. You can find all the available options related to preprocessing available in the Compiler Guide, Table 2-5. Parser Preprocessing Options. For example if you add the options -ppo -ppa then you'll end up with both a *.pp file as well as a *.obj file where the *.pp file is the preprocessed output.
