Going from CCS 4.2.4.00033 on Win 7 to CCS 5.1.1.00033 on VM Ubuntu. How do I license that?

Hi

I was working with the CCS 4.2.4.00033 on Win7. Now with the new CCS 5.1.1.00033 version I started to work on a Ubuntu Virtual Machine. That's all on the same PC. The CCS 5.1 runs until now with a evaluation license. For the CCS 4.2.4 I have a node locked license.

If I do upgrade the license to Linux CCS 5.1 can I still use the CCS 4.2.4 on Win7?

Does this need only one license so that I can still use the CCS versions on a second PC?

Where do I put the license file?

To support my older projects I will need one CCS version still running under Windows.

Kind regards

Matt

  • Hi Matt,

ok one point at a time.

If you have a valid v4 subscription, this will allow you to upgrad to a v5 license.  A v5 license will work in both v4 and v5.  These are the instructions to check your subscription and do the upgrade.  If you do not have a valid subscription, you would have to purchase a v5 license.

    • Go to www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware
    • Find your row for TMDSCCS-ALLF03-v4.0
    • Click MANAGE and then click UPGRADE – GET NEW LICENSE
    • Click E-mail license - you will receive two (2) emails: Instructions and License File with attachment (.lic)
    • You MUST follow these instructions to save this new License File (.lic) before you can use your upgraded version 5.1

And regarding 2 pcs.  A node locked license will allow up to two MAC addresses so you could input the Linux and Windows MAC.  You will just not be able to use the two simultaneously.  This wiki also has information.  The myregistered software is where you can look at this as well.
