Heat Board Card

Hi!!!!!

I will want to know how to flash or reinitialize my ezdspf2812 board because it's very hot et refuse to be connect with my CCStudion. I've an error tell me that to reset my board and i do it but the problem still remain. One week befotr this board was working perfectly and now i don't know what the problem.

I've read some post on this forum speaking about that and the probably problem is that a program want to access protected memory. Then is there any program hose can erase all in the DSp?

Thanks

This is message that I get

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000204/-1141
Fatal Error during: Register, OCS,
Processor communication timeout.
It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR. This will disconnect each target,
perform an emulation reset, and then reconnect each target.
Power cycle the target board before continuing.

Sequence ID: 0
Error Code: -1141
Error Class: 0x80000204
I/O Port = 378

Board Name: F2812 eZdsp
Cpu Name: cpu_0

Abort:        Close Code Composer Studio.
Retry:        Try to connect to the target again.
Cancel:        Remain disconnected from the target
Diagnostic:    Run diagnostic utility.

I am not sure if I understood this entirely, but I will try... If the board was working fine, suddenly it stopped working and is getting hot, then I would suspect the board itself is damaged. Try to locate the device that is getting very hot (the DSP, the RAM or Flash, the power regulator...) or check if the DSP has any clock out signal, or even consider repairing it directly with the manufacturer

The error shown is not related to the protected memory regions, but a timeout when attempting to communicate with the DSP. If you are positive the board is not damaged, you can try to use Spectrum Digital's SDFlash to unlock a previously locked device. Check the C2000 Flash FAQ or the Code Security Module FAQ pages for additional details.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hello

I checked my component that heats but everything seems normal but it also heats my dsp. This morning I tested a program, but the surprise was huge because my PWM1 output to PWM4 no longer worked except to PWM5 PWM6. All chip that i checked worked well. I don't know where the problem come from.

    Thanks.

  • Hello

When talking about board heat i mean that it is the dsp processor and i also want to know if it is possible to have a maintenance of the board by the TI service.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

As per your description it seems some of the DSP PWM outputs were damaged (short circuit, maybe?), as they are directly connected to the IDC header without any buffering.

If you purchased the tool from the TI e-store or from an authorized distributor, we may be able to do a repair. Check the Return Policy section of the e-store FAQ for details.

  • Hi

I've connect the IDC with an amplifier to raise the voltage but I like to know how to make the buffer. Should we do it with an optocoupler or an amplifier. To turn on my IGBT drivers it need 15V and my doesn't pass 450mA.

Sorry i couldn't use the return service because i have bought my board since 2004.

    Thanks for your help

Sorry, I can't help you there. My suggestion is to check the schematics of other development boards that have the drivers already implemented (for example, you can check here and here).

I think the return is valid for products out of warranty as well, but you need to contact them for details. Depending on where you live, the shipping and tax costs may be worth buying a new board instead.
