CCSv5.1 installation problems with Win7/32-bit

Guru* 84110 points

A customer is trying to install CCSv5 on a Win7/32-bit machine. He installed 5.0.3 on a WinXP/32-bit PC and 5.2.0Beta on a Win7/64-bit PC, but 5.1 on a Win7/32-bit PC is giving him problems.

In "normal mode", the setup just stops without any error messages.

He also tried "compatibility mode" with some kind of WinXP support, and that gave him lots of error messages.

He gave me a zip of InstallJammer logs, but I am not really sure they are from the normal mode attempt or the compatibility attempt or both. This is a newly imaged PC, so he is starting fresh from the original image each time.

What logs can I ask him to send to help figure out the normal mode problem, which I assume is what he should be doing?

Randy

  • Hi Randy,

the installjammer registry directory zip is perfect.

    Other things to double check

    - they should fully unzip the installer first

    - they should have full admin privileges

    - they should not use any directories in the process which have accented or special characters

    - they can double check the download/install zip file is not corrupted by attempting a download again

    Please keep us informed.

  • Lisa,

Thanks for the list. This will be good for public use. I passed this on to the customer and he reported success after re-imaging his PC and installing CCSv5 before some of the the other things he was installing on it. Not sure which of all the things did the trick, but he is done.
