CCS5 on-chip flash so slow

I use CCS5, why is On-chip flash programmer so slow, I have to wait CCS  for  2 or 3minutes.

   Please help me.

  • Hi Jingjing,

the speed will depend on many things

    - target

    - emulator (eg the XDS100 is slower than the XDS510)

    - number of segments being erased/written

Hope that helps at least give an idea of influences etc.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa, I use the same program, the same emulater(xds510puls). The target are both F2810. And the build option are both default setting. I think the high version(CCS5) should be faster than CCS3. CCS3 need about one minute, but CCS5 need about three minutes. Is there any other settings would affecte the speed? Best Regards, Jingjing

  • Hi Jingjing,

there are major differences between v3 and v5.  CCSv5 is stock Eclipse based and has more features.  We are aware and get constant feedback regarding the speed of CCS.  You can certainly compare the build settings to see if the defaults are very different, but I do know that unfortunately CCS is not the fastest.

If this time includes debug, then you could check the emulators JTAG speed/settings.

Hope this helps clarify but I don't think there is much that can be done unfortunately.

Best Regards and all the best with development.
