BIOS 5 with CCSv5.1

Dear all,

I'm mew to DSPLINK and CCS tools. I've a trouble to create a new projects based on BIOS 5 with CCS v5.1:

- I create a new project for the DSP evmDM6424 from mailbox example.

- The project is created, with the file mailbox.tcf. This file can not be opened.

- When I build the project, the file mailboxcfg.h is not present. Is it created from mailbox.tcf?

Is it possible to fix the problem?

I've looking for documentation and the only result that I've found is that I could create projectes with BIOS 6 and CCS v5.1 or BIOS 5 and CSS v4. Is that true?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Joaquim Duran

  • This should work fine.  I just tried creating a new project for the C6424 EVM based on the mailbox template and it builds ok for me.  I am using CCSv5.2 beta.

The fact that the mailbox.tcf can't be opened seems like something is messed up with the bios5 configuration tools.  Without that file the other BIOS files won't be generated during the build.  For me that mailboxcfg.h file is present in my \Debug directory and was generated along with a bunch of other files during the build.

What message do you get when you double click on the tcf file in your project?

  • The message is: "Unable to find a supported DSP/BIOS tool to open this file" .

I'm running the CCS v 5.1.1 in Linux. I would like to note that with this version of product I need to install the xdctools, bios 5 and bios 6 as independent products once CCSv5 is installed because by default the xdctools, bios5 and bios6 packages installed with CCSv5 installation are not recognized as products by CCSv5.
