CCS v5.1.1.00031 fails to resolve MCSDK and PDK

I just updated my CCS from 5.1.0.09000 to 5.1.1.00031. But when I vew the project property of my exisiting project, the RTSC tab of CCS general page shows MCSDK 2.0.7.19 and PDK C6678 1.0.0.19 being unknown. In addition, it shows the following repositories being unresolved:

${TI_MCSDK_INSTALL_DIR}/demos

${TI_PDK_C6678_INSTALL_DIR}/packages

${COM_TI_UIA_INSTALL_DIR}/packages

The project does not suffer this problem when I was using CCS v5.1.0.09000. I reinstalled bios_mcsdk_02_00_07_19_setupwin32.exe, but it does not help. My MCSDK and some modules are installed in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments

while CCS v5.1 and some other modules are installed in

C:\ti

My OS is Windows 7.

Could any one tell me how to resolve the problem?

  • Hi Dongning,

we have seen some issues with the program files directory.  However, before suggesting a different directory, could you please go to Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products and do two things

-see what products are on the list

    - try adding the MCSDK packages there

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

    Thank you for your reply.

The tool discovery path list box lists:

    C:/Program Files(x86)/Texas Instruments

    C:/ti

In the Discovered tools list box neithe MCSDK nor PDK is listed.

I tried to add MCSDK and PDK directoy to the path list box, but this does not  make them added to the tool list box even after refresh. Quitting CCS and then restarting it does not help either.

  • Hi Dongning,

    I would do the following

    - try installing the packages in a directory other than program files

    - double check that there is not a double directory.  I have found when unzipping these packages, Windows 7 creates an extra directory layer that gives CCS issues.  How does your installation look?  Check this.

    - make sure you have full admin priviliges

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your reply. I have uninstalled this version and reverted back to v5.1.0.

I would be very grateful for having me updated once this known issue is resolved.

  • HI Dongning,

it is a winzip, not a CCS issue.  You can simply manually remove the double layer and everything should be fine.  Please keep us informed if that works better for you.
