Problem opening .cfg files

Hello,

I upgraded from CCS 5.1.0.09000 to 5.1.1.00031 and now CCS seems to have forgotten how to open SYS/BIOS files with the nice GUI.  Now it will only open them as text.

It also doesn't show me an option to create a SYS/BIOS project under "New CCS Project".  My SYS/BIOS directories are still at C:\TI\bios_6_32_05_54

Any suggestions?

  • Hi Will,

when you installed CCS v5 originally did you use the full offline installer?  How did you upgrade?  Could you please check what you see if you go to Window->PReferences->Code COmposer STudio->Build->RTSC->PRoducts?  Maybe send a screenshot.

Do you get any errors or other symptoms?

    Best REgards,

    Lisa

  • Will,

I am havings some of the same troubles opening the .cfg file. I have a thread open on that already.

  • Hi Lisa,

I installed both versions with the full offline installer.  I have since, uninstalled CCS and re installed v5.1.0 and the SYS/BIOS file is editable again.

I didn't notice any other symptoms or errors, but since editing the .cfg file was my priority, I didn't try to do much else.

I will need to try the "upgrade" on another PC because I can't risk loosing another day of work fighting with this problem.  I also unpleasantly discovered that if my workspace directory is within my ti/ccs5 directory, then when I "uninstall", it obliterates most of the source code in my workspace folder.  Thank Dog for backups!

I'll try to install CCSv5.1.1 on another PC tomorrow and send you the info you requested.

    Thanks,
    Will

  • HI Will,

just thought I would check whether there is any update and how things are looking with 5.1.1.

    Best Regards,
