Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found

Dear all,

I am able to build my programs with no errors, but when I wish to launch TI debugger, it gives me an error message saying: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found.

But infact I am using MSP-FET430UIF on windows XP and driver for this device is installed properly. In device manager, it shows MSP-FET430UIF - CDC(COM6). After looking into other threads, I cannot really understand where the problem is. I tried to delete all the registries and point my drivers to some location as explained here: http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp43016-bit_ultra-low_power_mcus/f/166/t/18848.aspx

However when I insert Emulater, it has the habit of installing the driver automatically. It doesnt take CDC drivers downloaded from the following link: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP430_JTAG_Interface_USB_Driver

Thanks for any ideas.

Best wishes,

Vidya.
