DSK C6416

I have a DSK C6416 board. When I did the SD test, it is showing error- target not connecting. I would like to know what might be the problem,

because if there is any problem in one of the ICs I plan to replace that part with the new one. Is there any problem with - JTAG emulator, or

A4SX08A( Actel) or any other problem. Any guidance would be of great help.

Thanks in Advance

  • Hi,

There are at least two devices that comprise the embedded JTAG emulator on the DSK6416, the Actel and a DA255 ASIC. They are both programmed with Spectrum Digital's proprietary firmware, therefore any replacements will forcefully need to go through their Repair Service.

If you want to investigate yourself, check the schematics available at the board's support page. Also, I would carefully check the software configurations (try different PCs or different USB ports, for example) and, if you have an external emulator, check if you can connect to the device via the 14-pin connector - if you can't connect to it via an external emulator, it is possible the DSP or its surrounding circuits are the culprits.

As a reference, check the JTAG troubleshooting page at:

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
