CCSv5.1 target config file not linked to corresponding EVM GEL file

Hi,

I used CCSv5.1 and created a new target file for c6678 evm (TMS320C6678). In older v5.0.3.028 version, I don't need to do anything extra, and by default, this target file is linked to the corresponding EVM gel file. However, in CCSv5.1, the Initialization script in the Advanced setting of the target configuration is left blank. I need to explicitly set it to the corresponding gel file. Is this something need to be fixed so the behavior is the same as v5.0.3.28?

    Rex,

    I guess the removal of the GEL file was intentional, as the instructions (check here) explicitly say you can optionally add them.

    The intention behind this is probably because GEL files can disrupt the software execution on boards that have code already running on them. Since these files were delivered to the CCS team by the device group (BU), they will need to comment on the exact reasons.
