Have you tried reimporting the project into a new workspace? There were some known issues in 5.1.0 where importing certain projects created on a older version caused gmake to be replaced by make in some cases. This was supposed to be fixed in 5.1.1 though. Please take a look at this related post regarding this known issue and how to resolve.
If using a new workspace or the workaround suggested in the other thread does not help, can you provide us with the project that reproduces this issue?
