How can I uninstall components that are marked as Target Content

Hi,

I would like to clean up my CCS 5.1 installation a bit. Therefore I tried to uninstall the IPC that came with CCS (1.23.5.40). I successfully uninstalled "C6000 IPC" and "IPC", but uninstalling "IPC (Multicore and I/O (Target Content)" is not possible because the "Uninstall..." button is grayed out.
Any ideas?

Kind regards, Mario

  • Hi Mario,

unfortunately CCS has some known issues at times with doing a completely clean uninstall.

I assume you are talking about in add/remove programs?  Could you send a screenshot and a bit more detail on what you tried?

Typically what we do sometimes is manually remove all the folders and the contents of the installjammer registry directory (found under program files or program files(x86)) and reinstall or proceed from there as required.

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

I don't want to uninstall the full CCS. I just want to uninstall older versions of certain components.
As you can see in the screeshot below the "Uninstall..." button is greyed out, but I would like to uninstall this package.

Do you know how to achieve this?

    Kind regards, Mario

  • HI Mario,

have you tried via add/remove programs in Windows?  I believe IPC should be listed there if you wish to uninstall it.  Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

in Add or Remove Programs only the manually installed IPC package is visible. The one that came with CCS is not listed there.

    Kind regards, Mario

  • HI Mario,

are you able to remove the other two IPC entries or do you wish to keep those?  Is there a particular reason you wish to remove that specific feature?  Have you manually deleted the folders?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

the other two entries are from a different version and I want to keep them. I want to delete it because I don't need multiple versions of IPC. No, I havent deleted the folder yet, because I think deleting it from CCS is cleaner.

    Kind regards, Mario

  • HI Mario,

I am not sure what further help I can be as I confirmed you should only get the uninstall on the top level IPC entry.  Have you tried under Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->RTSC->Products?    IPC should also show up there and it is another place to manage its installation.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

ok, if it's not possible I will just live with the additional components.

    Thanks for your help, Mario

  • Hi Mario,

yeah, sorry for any inconvenience and all the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
