install CCSv5.03 error in action ExecuteAction

CCSv5.03 occured some problems, so I re-install it. But I meet some error:

It appear in the install-process of XDAIS

I re-install and retry for times, but same error.

I have checkt the wiki(http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCSv5), and follow the instructions, but it didn't work.

I try to install CCSv5.03 without selecting XDAIS, and install successfully. But without XDAIS, there may be error in development soon or later.

I want to know the way to solve this error.

 Thanks.

  • Hi,

CCSv5.0.3 is a very old beta that is provided as is.  I would highly recommend installing the latest released version, which is v5.2.

Having said that, would you please send the contents of your installjammer registry directory?  (found under program files or program files(x86))

    Have you

    - made sure not to use directories with accented or special characters?
    - unzipped the installer first?

    - tried redownloading in case of corruption?

Do you have full admin privileges and what OS are you using?

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • The conditions are:

directories without accented or special characters,

    no corruption,

    XP, with full admin privileges.

I'd like to try v5.2, but it need license, and the license of v5.03 seems doesn't fit v5.2.

My license is from the ccsv5.03 in EVM6678LX disk.

  • Hi,

as mentioned 5.0.3 is not really supported anymore but I can see if we can have a look at your logs, but we need you to send the contents of you installjammer registry directory as requested.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

  • Lisa,

I try to re-install for serverl times and it all fails when xdais installation,  so I dis-select xdais, then install succefully. But I think no-xdais will influence development in the future. How to avoid that?

As above metion, v5.2 require license. Does v5.03 license cann't apply to v5.2 ?

    Thanks,

    dp

  • Hi dp,

no the license you use for 5.0.3 will not work with 5.2.

However, there are a couple cases where you might be able to use the full version of 5.2

    - if you use the XDS100, CCS is free to use

    - if you have a v4 license with an active subscription, you are entitled to upgrade to a v5 license.

    See this wiki

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Licensing_-_CCS

One option for you might be to go Help->Check for Updates and see if you can add the xdias tools etc from there.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hello,

I have similar problems (for me  e.g. it is impossible to execute the deassembly since CCS crashes immediately) with the version 5.0.3 of Code composer Studio. I have the licenses (CCSv5.0-EVM-C6670.lic and CCSv5.0-EVM-C6678.lic)  and I use the blackhawk XDS560ver2 mezzanine emulator. As is it possible to have new licenses for code composer 5.2? Do I need to buy a new ones?

      Regards

    Massimiliano

  • Hi Massimiliano,

CCSv5.0 worked on a v4 license since it was a very early beta version we no longer recommend for use.

The current recommended version is 5.2 and does require a v5 license.  You have a few options as described in the below wiki.  Purchase, upgrade an existing v4 if it has an active subscription, or use a free license (eg the XSD100 and certain evaluation hardware is free to use with CCS)  Some EVMS with the mezzanine card are free to use with CCS.

    Have a look
