trouble connecting to target using CCSv5.1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

I'm using CCSv5.1 and i'm trying to connect to an OTS dev board from iVeia(Atlas-I-LPe GigaFlex I/O Development board). this board has an omap3530 on board.

when trying to configure a new target connection i select the XDS100v2 USB emulator (i have a BlackHAwk USB 100v2 emulator connected to target) and choose omap3530 as the device, which contains the master Cortex A8 CPU. The target config file that gets created shows a gel script as follows

i can't seem to modify the relative path specifying the gel script to use for the target. If i use the "Browse" button and select the file from the standard installation path for gel scripts, the edit box still displays the default relative path. As a test, If i just edit the filename in the edit box to point to a file i know doesn't exist, it then displays an error that it can't find the gel file, but lists a file directory that is not right, because the relative location to the current working directory does not correspond to the default  realtive path displayed. on my machine, the gel scripts are located at "C:\CCS_v5.1\ccsv5\ccs_base\emulation\gel" and you can see from the path that CCS is looking for it at "C:\CCS_v5.1\emulation\gel".

if i leave the default path to the gel script and try to connect to the target i get the error displayed below, although i think it still can't find the gel script

i also tried modifying the JTAG clock speed but that doesn't work either and i suspect its just a misleading error indication.

if i click on the "Test Connection" button in the target connection Advanced while selecting the Cortex_A8 the JTAG IR scan-test succeeds as shown in the following screen shots.

any ideas or suggestions for allowing me to change this default gel initialization script location?

thanks
