Unable to connect to board 816x with CCS and XDS560V2

I am trying to connect the board 816x with CCS using XDS560V2 emulator, but getting the below error:

IcePick_D_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -181 @ 0x0) The controller has detected a dead JTAG clock. The user must turn-on or connect the JTAG clock for the target. (Emulation package 5.0.520.0) 　

I am using Spectrum Digital 816x/389x EVM REV E and connecting the emulator to J15 JTag pin. I have tried keeping boot mode in both nand and sd mode but still unable to connect it.

Please let me know where I am doing wrong and how can i connect the board with CCS?

    Hello,

    The error message is indicating that emulator is unable to communicate with the target. Launch the 'Sd560v2Cnfg v5' utility that comes with CCS and try running the diagnostic tests. If they pass, then there could be a CCS issue. If they fail, then the issue is most likely not related to CCS but some issue with your target.

    Hi,

    The connector is the correct one (the high density 20-pin connector).

    The error shown can be caused by a bad physical JTAG connection (cables, the adapter, etc.) or even an issue with the board itself. Therefore my first inspection would be the hardware aspects between the board and the emulator.

    I have noticed in the past that sometimes the linux kernel (or even u-boot/xloader) may prevent the emulator from accessing the device. Although you correctly have tested changing the bootmode from NAND first to SD first, keep in mind that the device scans through a series of peripherals trying to find a boot source (check table 3 of the EVM Technical Reference Guide). Therefore, to be absolutely sure the device is not booting at all, try to set the bootmode to PCIe, UART, EMAC or something else you are absolutely positive there is no physical connection to it.

    I had checked with 'Sd560v2Cnfg v5' and the emulator test was passed.

    Regarding CCS i have licensed CCS v5, Version: 5.1.0.09000.
