about CCS V5.2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359, AM3357

I'm new for CCS. I have a few questions.

What is TMS470 Compiler and TMS470 Linker ?

Why useing TMS470 name the compiler and linker ?

What is XDCtools ?

I want to use your AM3357 or AM3359

How can I In-Circuit Emulator ?  Do I need an emulator ?

Thank u

TMS470 is the old name that represented the TI ARM family based devices. Hence TMS470 Compiler and Linker stand for TI's ARM Compiler and Linker

The name is confusing since we also have devices using the name 'TMS570' which are also ARM based devices but you use the 'TMS470' compiler and linker. Hence there are plans to change the name of the compiler/linker to just say 'ARM'.

It depends on your board. Many AM335x start kits come with emulation built in. All you need to do is connect the board to PC via USB cable. Check the specs of the board you wish to use.

    Thanks
