Problem doing target configurations of c5535 ezdsp

I have tms320c5535 ezdsp usb kit and i havent used it before. First i installed code composer studio version 4.2.4.00033 and then plugged the device to my computer for using in my school project. When i tried to make target configuration for the first time, i got this following message: Thread [main] (Suspended) 0 <symbol is not available> 0x026505. All connections were done as described on quick start guide. If somebody help me, i will appreciate.

Have you loaded a program? Basically it is saying that the dsp is halted and it does not have symbols for the location where it is halted.

Hi John,

Quick start sheet says: for target configuration, gel function of my device will be done and my target configuration will be completed. I didn't get any gel function when i did steps there. So today i downloaded gel function of my device from website of spectrum digital. And i runned some test on my device, it worked properly for now. Still i couldn't figure out why it doesn't create gel function itself.

When creating a target configuration in CCSv4.2.4 if you select USBSTK5535 as the device/board then it will automatically load the GEL file for that board. If you instead select the C5535 device then no GEL file is loaded.

Can i use my on board XDS100 of C5535ezdsp stick to program my target board?
