TMS320VC5502 Target Configuration in CCSv5.2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5502, TMS320VC5505, TMS320C5505, TMS320C5504

CCSv5.2 running on Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS.

My target is a TMS320VC5502 DSP.

I have an XDS100v2 JTAG emulator.

When I create a new target configuration, I select connection: Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Emulator.

In the "Board or Device", choices include:

USBSTK5505_VC5505

TMS320C5502

TMS320VC5504

TMS320VC5505

There is no choice for TMS320VC5502.

Am I limited to the choices above?

If so, what is my best choice?

Best regards,

PJ

  • PJ,

    You must use the TMS320C5502.

At a certain point in history the C5000 product team decided to remove the "V" from their latest products and apparently this was also removed from all of the configurations in CCS. Therefore, in the case of 5501, 5502, 5503, 5506, 5507, 5509, 5509A, 5510, 5510A the change is only cosmetic, since no "C-only" versions of these devices exist.

Conversely, the device configurations for TMS320VC5504 and TMS320VC5505 exist alongside TMS320C5504 and TMS320C5505 because there are actually two different devices.

    Regards,
