DM368 with XDS100v2

Hi,

We have DM368 based custom hardware.

Flashing UBL and UBOOT using the NAND_WRITER program is proving difficult.

Code Composer (5.2 Linux) takes quite a long time to run it's startup sequence once connceted to the board and then I load the program Nand_writer.

However, the problem really starts after the program is loaded - I click on "Resume" and most times, the board appears to simply reset and the program does not get executed.

It's obviously possible that this could be a problem with the board but if anyone has any expereience of this issue with a similar set-up I'd like to know if you managed to solve it!

In the past it was reported that adaptive clocking severely impacted performance when connecting to ARM9 cores. The page below talks about the issue and has a link to enable it in XDS100:

Another problem that could be related is regarding the PLL. Although you are using a newer device than the ones listed in the link below:

Also, keep in mind that the XDS100 performance under a virtual machine is severely impacted (if you are using one). Check:

I will try to find similar scenarios that could be influencing this and reply to this thread if I find anything, ok? Maybe someone else has run into the same problems and could reply...

Thanks for your reply, I will read through these pages with interest.

I have tried the XDS100 under VirtualBox and can confirm that it is indeed terrible!

I guess one of the other points is that the XDS100 is quite a low-end JTAG but nevertheless, it seems a little excessive when it resets the board just by pressing play.

I have tried to follow the assembly to see where it causes the reset but I gave up....
