CCS v5 become slows when break point inserted or removed

I am using CCS v5.1. When I insert break point during debug, CCS becomes unresponsive and pop-message shows  "User operation is waiting". It didn't insert break point at most of the time, some time it does. It causes big pain. How do I make faster like CCS v3.3 which was very good during debug.

  • Hi Sivakumar,

may I please ask for a bit further information?

    - what target do you use?

    - what exactly are you experiencing?  Does CCS crash or hang or just take a long time?  Do you get any errors or error logs?

    - can you describe you setup?

    - how many and what types of breakpoints are you setting?

    - is this an imported project?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Platform : TI's Jacinto1 EVM -DRH-447 c64x+ core

When I double click in the line of code to create break point, it takes long time to put breakpoint and while waiting it shows pop-up message that User operation is waiting. I can not do anything until pop-up message goes away.

I have CCS5.1 installed in Windows XP machine which runs at 2GHz and 3GB RAM. I am using XDS510 USB emulator. My project doesn't use ARM, it just uses DSP. It takes base band IQ samples from I2S port and does channel & audio decode on C64x+ and output audio PCM samples thro' I2S port.

2 or 3 software break point

This is imported project from CCS4.1 which is imported from CCS v3.3

  • Hi Sivakumar,

what would help us if if you could send us any logs or dump files.  This wiki has an explanation of where to find them and how to enable them etc.

  • Hi Sivakumar,

you can send them offline using a friend or conversation request.
