installation problem

sir,

My os is window7/64 bits.I tried to install CCSv5.1 but not getting istall.I thought its because of antivirus, thats why i unstalled it and try install ccsbut still same problem.

So can anyone tell me what should i do and which version of ccs i should install for my operating system. I want to use it for checking MSP430 codes

Do you mind trying 5.2.0 latest instead?

Also, if you do a fresh install of 5.2 and still see a problem, zip up the files under C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallJammer Registry, and the files <your ccs install>\ccsv5\eclipse\configuration, so that we can see what is causing the problem.

Hello,

in addition to Winnies comments please let us know what you are experiencing. Also please ensure

- you unzip the installer before installing

- you use only directories that have no accented/special characters or spaces

- I would also recommend the latest version

Hi Saloni,

can you please send the contents of your installjammer registry directory? This can be found under program files or program files(x86) as my colleague pointed out.

Hi Saloni,

the names can not help us. We needs the log files ... particularly the installation log file in the ccsv5 folder in the installjammer registry folder.

When you select the option to generate a post, you will find a link at the top of the editing page entitled "Options". Select this and you will find a way to upload a file.

Is it possible for you to zip the entire installjammer registry\ccsv5 folder? I'm still missing some logs. I'll take a look at them as soon as you post.

Hi Saloni,

I see that your unzip utility is incompatible with the os:

06/29/2012 09:26:11AM - couldn't unzip idebuildRepo.zip: This version of C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

In order to install correctly you need to:

1. rename (temporarily) C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE to C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE.old

2. Copy the unzip.exe from c:\ti\ccsv5\utils\bin to C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE

3. Delete c:\ti\ccsv5

4. Install

5. Rename your C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE.old to C:\BC5\BIN\UNZIP.EXE

Any further installs of CCS will pick up it's own unzip.exe so you won't have to do this again.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other issues.

I don't see how the compatibility error should even occur since she's running a 64 bit OS ... both a 32bit and 64bit version of the program should easily work .

Jacob,

The error isn't coming from the installer, I believe it's coming from the unzip exe itself when run on the command line. The logs just captured the output.
