Flash Programming

hello,

I am working on CCS v4(dont know which version specifically). i would like to know as to how to program my microcontroller (F28027 PICCOLO ) in flash mode and run the program using an external power supply. i have already set the build configuration to FLASH instead of RAM.please do mention the other requirements to program using flash. please explain with step by step procedure.

Sudharshan,

If your linker command file is setup to place the program in flash then when you load the program in CCS it will automatically program the flash for you.

Sudharshan,

In your project there should be a .cmd file. This is the linker command file. Basically it tells the linker where in memory the various parts of the executable should go. The .text section is the main program code.

When loading the executable to the device CCS will know if it is trying to load code to internal flash and will automatically program the flash.

Thanks a lot for your replies...i solved the problem....i thought i had difficulty loading the program onto flash...but that seems have been done properly....i had to remove a certain R9 resistor from the control stick for it to BOOT from FLASH..... after the removal it worked fine....THANK YOU once again and sorry to have bothered you.
