Error loading managed make project ez430_chronos_datalogger

Hi there,

I am having trouble importing the ez430_chronos_datalogger project to CCS. I get an error saying:

project conversion failed for project ez430_chronos_datalogger with the following error:
Error loading Managed Make project information for project ez430_chronos_datalogger. The tool definitions used to create the project are not available.

I had a look on the Chronos wiki to see if there was any information regarding this, but I cannot seem to find any.

I am using the latest version of Code Composer (version 5.1) as I thought this may have been the issue when looking through other forums where people received the error for different projects. I have updated the firmware of the chronos watch as was meant to be done but I don't understand what is causing the issue in the projects not being opened.

Any advice?

Hi Shiksha,

when you installed CCS, what device support did you install? Can you send screen captures? How did you import the project?

This could also be due to compiler versions. What msp430 compiler versions do you see if you go to

Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->Code Generation Tools

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure how I am meant to check the device support I installed.

As for importing the project, I did it through File > Import > General > Existing Project to Workspace

The compiler version for the msp430 is TI v4.0.0

Hi Shiksha,

one immediate issue I see is that you have not used the CCS import. Please try with Project->Import exsisting CCS/Eclipse Project.

The general import wizard is not meant for CCS projects.
