CCSv5.2: BH-USB-560M RevG Emulator code download hang ?

Hello,

I recently installed CCSv5.2 on my System and converted a CCS v4.2.4.33 project with no issues, however I cannot get the BH-USB-560M Emulator to function, invariably CCS v5.2 hangs as soon as code dowload to the target device starts (USB LED goes red on the Emulator).

Some context information:

  • Both CCS v4.2 and CCS v5.2 are installed on my Win7 x64 Bit PC.
  • CCS v5.2 was installed on my System with CCS v4.2 already installed, to a different location.
  • Both binaries compiled form the same sources and linked by CCS v4.2 and CCS v5.2 function correctly on the Target DM6446 based platform.
  • I can switch back to CCS v4.2 and the Emulator functions perfectly and can start a Debug session.
  • Note that the CCS v5.2 did install newer drivers for the Blackhawk emulator and they seem to work in CCS v4.2 also.
  • In CCS v5.2 the Target Configuration parameters are identical to the settings in CCS v4.2.
  • "Test Connection" in CCS v5.2 Target Configuration reports no errors.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?

    Hi Serge,

    Could you try looking for updated Blackhawk drivers with your 5.2 install ('Help -> Check for Updates')? I think I recall an issue with the drivers that comes with the base 5.2 install and you need to update them after you install 5.2.

    Hi Ki,

    I had done that yesterday and the drivers for the BlackHawk Emulator were updated to version 5.2.0.203.

    However I did contact BlackHawk directly and they say the latest driver should be 5.2.0.204.

    Is that the problem? where can i get version 204?

    Hi Serge,

    Sorry for the late response. I am doing some cleanup on the forums and see several threads that have gotten lost in the shuffle.

    All Blackhawk updates will be available via the Update Manager ('Help -> Check for Updates'). If you have not done so already, please update it.
