Problem using CCS 5.0.3 with C6678

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

Got a customer email about CCS crashing. Could someone in this forum help? Thanks!

I have CCS v5.0.3 running on a Windows XP system and am having problem trying to use it to debug a kernel image.

I have defined a target configuration with the Connection defined as "Blackhawk XDS560v2-USB Mezzanine Emulator" and the Device defined as "TMS320C6678". I launch the configuration within CCS and then "Connect Target" to "Blackhawk XDS560v2-USB Mezzanine Emulator_0/C66xx_0". I am able to view memory and vew registers, but when I select "View Disassembly" CCS crashes.

I could use some assistance in getting CCS running so I can debug the kernel.

  • Hi Rex,

we can try to help you but 5.0.x are old beta versions we don't fully support.  Is there any chance of migrating the customer to the latest released version, 5.2?  This would be the best solution.

Aside from that I can see if we can take a look at any logs that are generated.  Could you please send any .dmp files or error logs?  Do they see this with all projects/workspaces?

More on the logs can be found in this wiki
