Hello,
I am new to Code Composer Studio. In fact I am using CCS v5 for the first time. I bought a Stellaris LM3S8971 BLDC Motor RDK. It came with a Blackhawk XDS100v2 JTAG emulator.
I created new project in CCS. In the Target Configuration file for the project, the Blackhawk XDS100v2 is not listed in the Connection drop down menu. I therefore chose the Texas Instruments XDS100v2 option. After I clicked Test Connection, a window came up that showed a bit of information regarding the test; the final line read "The JTAG DR integrity scan-test has succeeded".
However when I debug the project, I get the following error:
Does anyone know the reason for this message?
I would very much appreciate a response.
Hi Ramone,
what exact CCS version do you have? What OS? Did you encounter any problems when installing? How did you create the project? Did you select the correct chip?
A bit further information might help us here. Do you see any issues in your device manager? Did you have antivirus off when installing?
Best Regards,
LIsa
Hello Lisa,
First of all, thanks for replying. To answer your questions:
- I have CSS v5.1.0.09000.
- The OS is Windows 7
- No I did not enter any problems when installing.
- To create the project, I clicked 'Create New Project' and selected the options shown in the dialog below:
The device manager seems alright and I do not have any antivirus software installed on my computer.
Thanks much.
Hi Ramone,
would you be willing to try v5.2? The latest release. Do the example projects give you the same error(s)?
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
The example projects give the same error.
I am willing to try v5.2. Do you have a link to where I can download it.
Regards,
Ramone

Please keep us updated as to how 5.2 works out for you.

Hi Ramone,
are you using the full offline installer? I would recommend
- first trying again
- redownloading the full installer and trying again.
This an error connecting to a server with the software, which could be a server glitch or proxy settings.
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
