TMS470 compiler/assembler ".lst" output file is column-limited....

Hello,

I am interested in adjusting the line length of the assembler output file ".lst" while using the TMS470 Build toolset.

It appears that the line length is limited to 130 characters.  With some information being truncated, I would like tweet the TMS470 Compiler options to yield a longer line length in the ".lst" output file.

Is there a way to accomplish this?  If so, how?

  • BTW....I am using TMS470 version 4.6.1.  I am not using the latest CCSv4 available as the later versions appear to break my build or at the very least optimize it enough that it is not acceptable.

Thank you in advance for any assistance rendered.

This has been requested before to increase the line length limitation in listing files, however as far as I know, there aren't any plans to do so. Sorry about the inconvenience.

  • Thanks AartiG.  I appreciate the prompt reply.

It is a little inconvenient.  I use the "listing" output file to help manage the firmware and the additional line length would have been helpful.

Are there any plans to include this feature in CCS version 5?

I understand the inconvenience. It's just that requests such as these always tend to be lower priority against other bug fixes/feature additions etc. Still, I have filed another enhancement request so it can be (re)considered for a future release, but I can't guarantee it will happen or in what time frame. For you reference, the tracking # for the request is SDSCM00044592, which you may track using the SDOWP link in my signature.
