CCS Version: 5.2.1.00018 cannot check for updates

How can I check for updates using CCS Version: 5.2.1.00018? I installed the offline installer. I did a custom installation to include MSP430, Stellaris, C2000, Hercules and SYS/BIOS V6. When I try to check for updates, the error message I get is, "No repository found..."

have you tried since? Is there a specific update you need?

Please go to the update urls (menu option Window-> Preferences->Install/Update->Available Software Sites) and disable or remove the one with the http://http. You should be able to search for updates after that.

Yes, thanks. That worked.

You can see that I simply unchecked it (attached). Would it have been better to edit this entry instead to the following?

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5

or is this already accounted for by the entry below it?

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5/Updates

Just one day after CCS v5.2.1.00018, there are already updates. This came as a bit of a surprise. You'd think a release would have all the latest things included. Any insight here?

glad to hear Danishs instructions helped.

In regards to the further questions:

Unchecking the URL is the correct solution.

Regarding releases containing the latest versions. I agree this would be ideal but not always possible. One main reason is that there are items which come from other groups and/or third parties. For example, we work extremely closely with Blackhawk, but do not post their updates. We build and release CCS, but there are various compiler teams who maintain the compiler versions themselves. These are a couple reasons, for example along with the fact that some versions unfortunately slip code freeze dates and therefore are too late.
