CCS crashes when trying to simulate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I'm having some problems with CCS v 5.1.0.09000. Iused to simulate projects without any problem but now everytime I try to make a simulation something it has some problem, until now I got two different kind of errors:

1 - It shows the message "Can't Initialize Target CPU: Could not initialize the simulator driver. Check the Configuration File" and doesn't simulate

2 - Sometimes it doesn't show the error mesage of 1, it just crashes. When I run CCS again the error log just says "Unexpected CCS exit detected" and "An exception stack trace is not available"

I've tried different projects, different workbenches and it never works.

However I can run the program in EVM. The problem is just with simulation

How can I fix it without reinstalling CCS?

Thanks.

  • Hi Johannes,

please try regenerating your ccxml file (target configuration file).  We have seen instances where one from an older version is not properly imported into the new CCS version.

    Is this a v4 project?

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

    Thanks four your reply.

Actually all projects that I have are V5.

It seem that I found a workaround for this problem.

Some days ago I was getting a Low Heap message from CCS, so I changed the xmx from 384 to 1024 M in both eclipse.ini and ccstudio.ini. With this configuration I cold run no simulation, so now I decreased both to 512 M and I can do some simulations.

After that, I was getting errors with just one project, but creating a new ccxml solved the problem .

    Regards

    Johannes

  • Hi Johannes,
