Code Composer Studio 5.2.1 not starting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi, I've installed CCS5.2.1 on my Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit OS, and installed the 32-bit libraries, but still CCS just won't start. When I run it through the terminal as sudo, it does nothing?

  • Hi Adre,

do you have all other dependencies also installed?

Have you seen this wiki topic?

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Linux_Host_Support#Installation_Instructions

Can you provide any further details?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

I followed the instructions on that link to the letter and installed recommended packages, but still nothing happens.

I've changed permissions to allow all users to access the program and that doesn't change it either.

I can't seem to open the program, not by clicking on the shortcut on the desktop or by running it through

    the terminal (./ccstudio).

When I hit enter, the terminal just hangs for like a second and then nothing happens.

If I open it from the desktop, nothing happens either.

  • Hi Adre,

    - have you tried the latest release from last week?

    - have you checked your proxy settings?

    - what device support did you install?

    - could you possibly send the contents of your installjammer registry directory?

    - do you/did you have antivirus disabled.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Adre,

just thought I would check whether there was any update and if the tips were helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Good evening.

Apologies for my slow reply, I have been away and could not try to fix the problem.

I've also sort of given up and rather installed CCS on my Windows partition, as I feel the time it will take to try and fix this

    does not justify the reward.

Thank you for your friendliness and readiness to help.

    Kind Regards

    Adre Neethling

  • Hi Adre,

ok, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the update.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
