CCS 5.2.1 Ubuntu XDS100v2 Error -1063 can't connect to OMAP-L137

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L137

I just installed CCSv5.2.1.00018 on Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit.  I would like to connect to OMAP-L137 EVM.  When I create a new Target configuration, there are no boards or devices listed under "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM PLUS onboard USB Emulator", so I dusted off the XDS100v2, and select OMAPL137 device.  I ask for Test Connection, and all is reported OK.  I go to debug session, and I get this error message:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -1063 @ 0x0)
Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver. Confirm device and emulator configuration is correct, or update device driver.
(Emulation package 5.0.747.0)

If instead I select c6747 device, connection is OK.

Am i missing something from my install, or is L137 a lonely orphan?

  • Hi,

Per your description it seems you have a XDS100v1 emulator, which only supports C674x devices (the DSP-side of OMAPL137).

I managed to reproduce the exact same scenario as yours (test connection ok, fails to connect to ARM9) - in my case I am using a XDS100v1 emulator but configured it as a XDS100v2 on the Target Configuration Editor.

Therefore, to be able to connect to the ARM9 core you will need a XDS100v2 emulator.

    Regards,

    Rafael
