Intermittent "Does not match the target endianness" error

Good morning all.

About 50% of the time when I try to connect to my C6173B DSP I get the following error

"TMS320C671X: GEL: File: C:\CCSv5 Projects\14du\Debug\14du.out Does not match the target endianness, not loaded. Check project build options and target configuration file (ccxml)."

Once this happens I have to unplug everything and reset my computer and it works again.  HD8 and H12 are not used so are left in there default position.  can anybody suggest what could be causing this?

Thanks

Sean

  • Hi Sean,

What is the full version number of the CCSv5 install you are using? And what emulator?

Would it be possible to send me that out file? Start a private conversation with me if you don't want to post it publicly

    Thanks

  • Good afternoon,

The vesion of CCS I am using is 5.1.0.0.9000 and the emulator is a Spectrum Digital XDS510 USB.

I will send you the .out file but it happens with the different .out files we use.

    Thanks

    Sean

  • Hi Sean,

Thanks for the test case. I tried it out on the below environment:

    CCS: 5.1.0.09000

    Emulator: Spectrum Digital XDS510USB

Target: 6713 DSK (with and without GEL file)

It seems to load fine every time. I loaded 10x so far with each time successful.

There must be something specific to your environment. What can help us analyze the issue is if you generate a debug server log and send it to us. You need to turn on logging (it is disabled by default). Enable the log, start the debugger and load the program until you get the failure. Then stop logging and send the log to me.
