Hi Lisa!
No, I have not seen such a field. You can to see that something I see in attachment file.
Regars, Yuriy.
Hi Yuriy,
what device support did you install when installing CCS? It looks like you have no BIOS or XDC tools installed. Did you select these to install?
I would install BIOS support, which you can also do from here:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:SYSBIOS
I would recommend not using the program files directory. Once installed you can point CCS to it by Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->RTSC->Products
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa.
The attached file shows the sequence of installation CCSv5.2.1 and window "Window-> Preferences-> Code Composer Studio-> Build-> RTSC-> Products". Still, I can not create a project with SYS / BIOS.
A similar sequence of setup I'm doing when installing CCSv5.1 and everything is in order.
Best Regards,
Yuriy.
Hi Yuriy,
have you tried a fresh workspace? Have you tired Window->Reset Perspective?
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa.
Yes, I tried a fresh workspace and Reset Perspective, it does not help.
If you install the CCSv5.2.1 top CCSv5.1, it works as it should, but if you remove all CCS and install CCSv5.2.1, then we have this bug.
Best Regards,
Yuriy.
Hi Yuriy,
none of us here have seen this issue or been able to reproduce it. I can only recommend trying a fresh reinstallation in a new direcotry.
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa.
I installed CCS v5.2.1 for three computers with Windows XP and one computer with Windows 7, the situation is the same.
What operating system are you using? Maybe it is because I have Windows Russified.
Best Regards,
Yuriy.
Hi Yuriy,
that could certainly be a possible cause of the issue. Unfortunately I do not have a Russian system here to test. Are you able to verify things are ok on an english pc? I use WIn 7 64 bit and have also tested with XP and Ubuntu Linux. (all english installations)
Please keep me informed if you have an english system that can be tested.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I just installed CCSv5.2.1 the English version of Windows, same situation.
You say you installed CCS on your computer, and you can create a project with SYS/BIOS? Is that correct?
Yuriy.
Hi Yuiry,
yes I usually always do a full installation but have never had it happen to me that the empty RTSC project is not there. Would you be able to send your installjammer registry dirctory files to us? Did you have antivirus off and use only directories with no special or accented characters?
Best Regards,
LIsa
Hi Yuriy,
I was able to reproduce your problem by installing a customized image of CCS 5.2.1 (as opposed to the full image). It seems that one component (DVT), which is required for RTSC to function properly, does not get installed in this scenario.
This problem is fixed in the upcoming CCS 5.3.0. Until then, the easiest workaround is to install the full image - on the "Setup Type" page of the install wizard, choose "Complete Feature Set".
Thanks,
- Baltasar
Hi Baltasar,
I installed the full image of CCS 5.2.1 and got the same result - no field "empty RTSC project".
I think the problem is different, because I installed customized image of CCS 5.2.1 on my laptop and all working in order.
I did the installation on four corporate computers, and got the same negative result.
May be on the corporate computers something installed, that interferes with the normal install CCS.
We use antivirus Symantec, I can not turn it off completely, it may be the cause of it.
Best Regards,
Yuriy.
Hi Yuriy,
Could you please send me your <workspace>/.metadata/.log file (after you've started CCS)?
Also, please send me the contents of the ...\ccsv5\eclipse\configuration\ directory (zipped up).
Thanks,
- Baltasar
Thanks Yuriy,
Unfortunately, so far, these files don't show any new clues.
Could you also upload the install log files? You can find them in the ".../Program Files/InstallJammer Registry/ccsv5/" directory. Just reverse-sort the auto-generated directories/files, and include the latest ones. Or zip the entire "InstallJammer Registry" directory.
Thanks,
- Baltasar
Hi Baltasar,
I reinstalled on my computer CCS 5.2.1 and CCS 5.1 in two different locations.
Just in case I'm sending you all the files that you have requested.
Regards,
Yuriy
It is still an interesting thing.
When starting CCS 5.2.1, he is looking for new products, and finds them in the folder where installed ccs 5.1.
Appear a window "Add Discovered Product" .
If I add the products found, after this it is possible to create a project with the operating system.
Yuriy
Hi Yuriy,
Your install logs show that XDCtools base-component fails to unzip during the installation. As a result, none of the RTSC functionality works. I will forward your install logs to someone on the install team to have a look.
As a temporary workaround, instead of using the old XDCtools from your 5.1.x image, you can download the same version that is bundled with 5.2.1 from here: http://www.sanb.design.ti.com/tisb_releases/cgi-bin/genpage.pl. As you already know, when you start CCS, it will search for any new RTSC products, and allow you to register them with CCS. Alternatively, you can hit the Refresh button on the Preferences > CCS > RTSC > Products page.

Yuriy,
Are you using a downloaded (i.e. "offline") installer? It is possible that your downloaded installer is corrupt. Could you please try downloading a fresh copy of the CCS 5.2.1 installer, and try to install one more time?
Thanks,
- Baltasar
Hi Baltasar,
I always use an offline installation CCS5.2.1, and tried to install not only once.
I downloaded and install the latest version of XDCtools and SYS / BIOS from here:
http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/sysbios/index.html,
and it helped.
I hope the new version of CCS this bug will be fixed.
Thanks for your help,
Yuriy
