Creating target configuration file for TMS320C6748 DSP Development Kit (LCDK)

Hello TI E2E Community,

I just started working with the TMS320C6748 DSP Development Kit (LCDK) and am following the BIOS C6SDK 2.0 Getting Started Guide. The instructions is tailored more towards the EVMC6748 more than the LCDK. In creating the target configuration file, the instructions says to select OMAPL138 for the device. Should I be selecting TMSC6748 for the device?

Wing,

You can either select the TMS320C6748 or the LCDK board configuration; CCSv5.2.x comes with a board configuration for the LCDKC6748 which includes a board-specific GEL file by default.

Hello Rafael,

I am currently using CCSv5.1.1 and do not see the LCDKC6748 option in the list. Do I need to upgrade to CCSv5.2.x?

Wing,

You don't necessarily need to upgrade to 5.2.x to be able to connect and perform debugging in your kit, we simply added these new configurations for the convenience of the user.

In your case I would simply configure for the TMS320C6748, properly assign a GEL file (one was probably provided with the companion software that came with your kit) and debug away... :)
