Not able to RUN the Example projects for 2806x through ControlSUITE

Hi Vinayaki,

can you confirm what CCS version you use?  How have you tried to bring in the control suite example?  Have you tried using the resource explorer to access the example?

Could you provide a bit further detail?

I am using CCS v5 and Compiler ver TI 6.0.2.  Here is the procedure I followed

1. Welcome to CCS 

2. Went to Examples (I believe this will open the resource Explorer)  

3. From ControlSUITE select Example GPIOSetup

4. Then click the Step1.

After Clicking Step1 i got above error.

I have tried to Import the same project through "Import existing CCS/CCE Eclipse Project" but failed to do so.

Hi Vinayak,

what exact CCS version do you have?  Was it a clean installation?  I am going to see if I can reproduce this.  Do you have antivirus turned off?  Do other examples work?  Did you install C2000 support (it sure seems like it).   Do you have the latest version of ControlSuite?

HI Lisa,

I have Licensed CCS Version: 5.1.0.09000. I am not sure whether it was a clean installation while installing  also I am not sure antivirus was turned off or not. I can run F2803x examples by following same steps. I have 3.0.3 Version for ControlSUITE.

Hi Vinayak,

I just tried in 5.2.1 with ControlSuite 3.0.3 and had no issues at all.  Would you be willing to move to the latest CCS version?  Please give that a try.  I would recommend a fresh installation into a new directory.

HI Lisa,

I tried to Reinstall the CCS5 as well as ContolSUITE. Now interestingly in my CC stdio i saw two installed COntrolSUITE (see image attached) and none on them is working for above problem.

I don't know how to deal with that so i decided to copy the files in my own projects and try to work that. But still i haven't got the solution for above problem.

Any comments?

what are you experiencing exactly?  In your last post here I do not see any apparent signs of problems.  You have control suite in the project explorer and it looks like one or two examples brought in to your workspace. 

Where do you have control suite installed?

As per your recommendation i installed CCSv5 version in different directory. I have installed controlSUITE with same version as you mentioned. But the problem not get solved. I got same error as mentioned by first query.

Although I have controlSUITE in project explorer and it looks like one or two examples brought in to my workspace but its not working for F2806X examples. I experience that it is working with F2803X exapmples and i am guessing because its taking examples for ccsv4 (D:\TI\controlSUITE\device_support\f2803x\v126\DSP2803x_examples_ccsv4). May be i am wrong! is it So?

Whats your opinon on this?

HI Vinayak,

The only differences I can see is that I have compiler version 6.1.  Did you install the latest CCS and Control Suite?  What version of CCS are you now on?  Do you have v6.1 of the compiler?  (You can check this under Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->Code Generation Tools.

If this issue is still unresolved, please let us know where it currently stands. As per the earlier suggestions, our recommendation would be to install the latest version of CCS 5.2.1 in a separate directory. This includes version 6.1.0 of the C2000 compiler tools which was what those F2806x ControlSuite example projects were created with, so there should be no issues importing them. You can download and install CCS 5.2.1 from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

I would also recommend trying a new workspace or deleting the projects you had earlier tried importing and had problems with, before trying to reimport them again.
