AM37x EVM debugging using CCSv5

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3703, AM3715

Hi,

I am havig CCSv5 on a Windows XP PC, Mistral AM37x EVM, Signum JTAG JET and Ashling XDS560 JTAG. Is it possible to debug the Android applications on CCS using these hardwares? I am not able to find the AM37x device in the target configuration list - reason for raising this question!!

Can some one help me getting the link to the step by step help or some pointers how can I debugg AM37x usign CCSv5 on windows PC?

  • Vinayaka,

I am not an expert in Android applications development, but the JTAG emulation will only be useful for low-level device and Android kernel debugging. If you are not performing these tasks, then I am pretty sure you will only need the ADT plugin for Eclipse.

CCSv5.2.0 and newer have the complete JTAG configuration for AM3703 and AM3715 devices, as well as the EVMAM3715 board, thus it is highly recommended. However, the ADT plugin works with CCSv5.1.x releases as well.

The CCSv5 Getting Started Guide is a good step-by-step document to become acquainted with the tool and the JTAG emulation.

For Android application development and debugging, I suggest to also check the Android category of our wiki page.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
