Pandaboard on CCSv5

Hi All,

I am thinking of investing in the XDS100v2 jtag debugger for the pandaboard, to learn a bit more about working with ARM on a very low level.

Is there a need for a license to be purchased with CCSv5, or is buying the debugger and installing CCSv5 the only thing necessary to begin development.

Hi Andrei,

the XDS100v2 is free to use with CCS so you would not need a purchased license. This wiki is a licensing overview you may find useful.

You simply need to select "Free limited License". The limit in this case is the emulator and as mentioned the XDS100 is allowed.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for the reply, that is quite helpful, a couple of last things to check before I make the purchase. The part for the Pandaboard ES is TMDSEMU100v2U-14T correct?

Also do CCSv5 and the XDS100v2, both work under Linux, namely the Ubuntu distribution?
