CCSv5.2 create new ccs project changed?

I recently purchased and installed CCSv5.2 and I noticed it does not provide the option for using DSP/BIOS when creating a project, nor does it provide an empty DSP/BIOS example anymore. I checked online and found a demo at http://software-dl.ti.com/sdo/sdo_apps_public_sw/CCSv5/Demos/GSG_Creating_projects_v5/GSG_Creating_projects_v5.html but it does not match what I have.

The demo shows the first of several screens when you open a new ccs project:

On my version I only get one screen with fewer options:

The only way I can make it a DSP/BIOS project is by adding a DSP/BIOS configuration file after the project is created.

Question: Is this the intended behavior of the latest release or have installed something incorrectly?

  • Hi Cam,

That video you referenced is a bit dated. We simplified the new project wizard to what you see. So the behavior of what you are seeing is correct.

Yes, you can do that. Or if you select one of the DSP/BIOS v5.xx Example templates, it will auto-add a BIOS config file thus making it a BIOS project also.

    Thanks
