CCSv5 - Node Locked Vs. Floating Licenses

Guru 10750 points

Hi,

A few questions regarding Node Locked Vs. Floating Licenses,

- Is there any performance degradation using floating license? Does the CCS check's this once at start or every n seconds?

- Can a Node lock license be converted to Floating one and vice versa?

Thanks,

HR

I believe it will check every time you start a debug session. But once started, it will not check again. There could possibly be a performance degradation if you have a very slow internet connection but otherwise it should be fine.

Not by yourself. You would need to contact the licensing team to help do this: ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com

    Thanks

  • Ki,

Just to confirm "There could possibly be a performance degradation if you have a very slow internet connection" is just for the start of the debug session and probably at the end of the debug session, there is nothing in between, is this correct.

    Many Thanks,

Actually it is when you first launch CCS and when you first start a debug session. That's it. It doesn't check at the end of a debug session.

  • Ki,

    OK, Thanks,
