confused about 'CC 4.12' and 'CCStudio 3.3'

I inherited support for a F2406A DSP and the previous developer was using "Code Composer 4.12". But according to the TI web site, the last version to support it was "Code Composer Studio v3.3" (CCStudio v3.3).

Does the "4.12" version (presumably non-studio version) preceed the "3.3 studio" version?

Which version should I install to support this old DSP?

Hi,

Yes, the Code Composer 4.12 was the previous family of development tools.

CCSv3.3 for F24x devices is the recommended tool and is still available for purchase at:

http://www.ti.com/tool/ccstudio3

Can I install both CCS v3.3 and v5.2.1 on the same machine (Win 7 64-bit)?

Hi,

Yes, you can. CCSv3.3, though, was not designed with Windows 7 in mind and therefore a few issues happen. Check:
