Cannot Run CCS due to Error

Hello, Please help me

I have seen a number of people have had a similar problem, but I don't really understand the solutions that were given to them. I have recently purchased a DRV8301-HC-C@-KIT and I am trying to install the CCS Version 4 from the flash drive that came in the box. The installation kept pausing and then not continuing while it was installing. I kept having to cancel then continue. Eventually it installed then it opens the first time and then says it needs to reboot and then I get an error trying to open it again.

The error says:

"An error has occurred. See the log file C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\eclipse\configuration\1348767267777.log"

And the number changes every time I attempt to log in.

You help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Dean,

I recall a very old issue with installing CCSv4 from a flash drive.... which leads me to suggest you move to a later version of CCS since you may be trying to use an outdated version. I would strongly recommend moving to v5:

Thank you for your speedy response, and sorry for my poor reply.

Anyway, I managed to install CCSv, but now I am having problems running the code that was provided to run the motor in BLDC and PMSM mode. It was giving me problems about the emulator again and now it just gave me an error that the "licence cannot be aquired: the licence that you are using is only valid under code composer studio 4. To continue using Code Composer Studio 5, please update your licence file. etc"

Now I got this after relicencing

"Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect returned bad status or an error. The cause may one or more of: invalid emulator serial number, blank emulator EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable. Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif' folder to verify the emulator can be located. (Emulation package 5.0.747.0)"

Please help.

All that I want to do is spin my motor with this code and compare the BLDC and PMSM controller techniques.
