Issues missing in ClearQuest database and elsewhere

After upgrading to MSP430 compiler version 4.1.2 I was scanning the DefectHistory.txt and wanted more information on some issues, e.g. :

KNOWN ISSUE SDSCM00008652 Summary: pow(2,x) has fairly significant rounding error

or

KNOWN ISSUE SDSCM00030125 Summary: Linker generates confusing error message and fails

Neither of these, and many more, are in the ClearQuest database or have search hits in these forums or the web (other than pointing back to the DefectHistory.txt). I even made my own query of all "Headline"s to search for some issues with no luck, so it's not just that some issues might have a new or updated ID or incident report #. Either these are not in the database or are somehow invisible to queries.

Some do, of course, such as KNOWN ISSUE  SDSCM00044121. And there is a list of what is in the database at Public Queries/ Development Tools/ TI C-C++ Compiler/ Open Defects/ MSP430.

I do appreciate that TI has made this resource available but would find it more useful if the majority of defects were present rather than absent.

  • When TI put the ClearQuest database online we started with database entries that were submitted since approximately 2009. Many entries that were submitted before 2009 will not be found in the external ClearQuest database.

  • That said, there are recent issues that aren't making it in, for example this one dealing with the ULP advisor, which didn't exist in 2009 (or 2010): SDSCM00043485.

Or SDSCM00044163, which judging by the assigned number is recent as well. Most recent issues do appear to be accessible, however.

I'm not trying to nitpick. As I said, having he DB online is very nice, but for some reason a few fall through the cracks.
